About The Role
The Publishing Assistant is a crucial role within our content management team and publishing teams. This position exists to support the content lifecycle from receipt to live publication, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, formatting, and SEO optimization. Additionally, this role involves meticulous quality control to maintain the integrity and professionalism of the content published.
Roles & Responsibilities
Article Uploading and Formatting
Upload articles to WordPress sites promptly and ensure they adhere to the site’s style and formatting guidelines.
Utilize HTML and CSS to adjust layouts, improve visual appeal, and ensure articles are mobile-responsive.
Quality Control and Proofreading
Ensure content is clear, coherent, and free from factual inaccuracies before publication.
Check SEO Optimization
Implement on-page SEO best practices, including meta tags, alt texts, and keyword optimization.
Collaborate and communicate with the team
Liaise with writers, editors, content managers to ensure articles meet content and editorial standards.
Be responsible for Content Management System (CMS) Maintenance
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to article uploads or site performance.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Information Technology, or a related field.
Specialized Knowledge
WordPress Proficiency: Extensive experience with WordPress CMS, including themes, plugins, and customizations.
HTML and CSS: Knowledge of HTML and CSS for customizing article layouts and ensuring mobile responsiveness.
SEO Best Practices: Understanding of on-page SEO techniques and strategies to optimize articles for search engines.

Technical Skills: Proficient in using content management systems, particularly WordPress, and familiar with basic coding (HTML, CSS).
