Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Accountant in Portland, ME. Summary: The Payroll Accountant is responsible for supporting payroll tax processing, balance sheet reconciliation, and compliance reporting for the company. This role ensures payroll liabilities are properly reported and cleared, supporting timely tax filings and benefit reconciliations. The Payroll Accountant collaborates with the finance and accounting teams to optimize payroll-related processes while mitigating compliance risks. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Accountant will process and route invoices for approval, ensuring proper authorization
  • Address invoice discrepancies and rejections with vendors and end users
  • Maintain vendor database and process credits
  • Support AP policy enforcement and respond to staff inquiries
  • As a Payroll Accountant, you will assist with check preparation, vendor uploads, and patient refunds
  • Collaborate with buyers to resolve mismatches and suggest improvements
  • Provide general departmental support and assist with special projects

Requirements

  • Skills: Excel, VLOOKUP’s, Hlookups, and pivot
  • Software: Infor Cloud Suite/Strata nice to have
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Equipment Provided: Yes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
