The Associate for Membership and Peer Exchange is a key member of the Peer Exchange, Policy, and Programs Team, which is responsible for membership, peer exchange, policy, and resident-focused programs. Reporting to the Director of Peer Exchange and working closely with the Vice President for Membership and Peer Exchange and the Manager of Meeting Operations, the associate is responsible for multiple aspects of membership and peer exchange administration, interacting with staff throughout the organization to connect peer exchange to their work, and engaging with HPN members.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ADMINISTRATION
Membership
Respond to inquiries by organizations interested in HPN membership.
Manage the online application forms, making revisions as necessary and streamlining tracking and management of the pipeline of prospective members.
Conduct research on potential new member organizations.
Assist in the review and assessment of membership applications, including performance of due diligence, and production of reports for internal management and the Board’s Membership and Peer Exchange Committee.
Assist in the annual membership renewal process, including outreach to members and tracking of dues payments.
Collect, curate, and disseminate relevant member news, serving as an internal information source on current activities being undertaken by members.
Help maintain current membership information in Salesforce, working closely with the HPN Data Analytics Team and with the Manager of Meeting Operations, assisting on data collection and analysis projects as needed.
Peer Exchange
Assist in organizing and implementing 60+ virtual peer exchange sessions throughout the year, including those of HPN’s 16+ peer exchange communities by functional areas (COOs, CFOs, etc.) as well as cross-cutting topics.
Assist in project management, content development, notetaking and notetaking coordination for two in-person HPN member meetings per year.
Assist in developing program content and project management for two industry collaboratives – Strength Matters, an initiative focused on financial management, and the International Housing Partnership, linking HPN to networks in the UK/Ireland, Canada, and Australia.
Assist in the development and management of HPN’s racial equity efforts with members – including planning for virtual and in-person peer exchange, managing measurement tools to assess HPN network progress on racial equity, and assisting with efforts launched by the Board’s Racial Equity Committee.
Assist in analyzing and summarizing notes and recordings and sharing learnings from peer exchanges, in coordination with HPN’s Data Analytics team, to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities (such as for new innovations or policy advocacy efforts).
Review meeting notes/recordings and help coordinate with staff to ensure appropriate follow-up action from peer exchanges.
Working with our Data Analytics team and the Director, assist in efforts to track and share key learnings from all peer exchanges.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS or comparable related experience.
2-3 years of professional experience preferred but will consider recent graduates with relevant internships or volunteer positions.
Demonstrable interest in the community development and/or affordable housing industry, with a strong grasp of current housing and community development issues.
Demonstrated ability to collect and maintain clean, actionable data. Strong data analysis skills with experience analyzing, measuring, and articulating program results and outcomes.
Excellent computer/technology skills. Experience with customer relations management software and business intelligence (BI) tools (such as Salesforce, FormAssembly or similar programs) is highly desirable.
Very strong written and oral communication skills required, experience with public speaking, presentation or group facilitation a plus.
LOCATION
HPN is a remote company. Employees may work from anywhere in the contiguous 48 states while staying fully engaged with their team and the broader company through virtual collaboration tools and regular online meetings. Occasional travel is required for in-person meetings, conferences, or team-building events to foster strong relationships and ensure alignment with key initiatives. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work from their home, have a dedicated office, and be comfortable balancing virtual communication with the ability to travel as needed for business purposes.
COMPENSATION
Salary: $64,800 (min)-$81,000 (mid). Commensurate with education and experience with a bonus potential.
