ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is seeking a Senior Proposal Specialist to join our Marketing team. This position is virtual, but strongly preferred to be in pacific or mountain time zones.
The Senior Proposal Specialist is critical in supporting Energy Systems Group (ESG)’s business development efforts in the west and southwest geographies. This individual will coordinate, develop, and deliver high-quality responses to public sector solicitations, ensuring compliance with client requirements and alignment with ESG’s strategic goals. The Senior Proposal Specialist will also provide grant-writing support to help ESG’s clients reach their goals.
The Essential Functions Of The Position Include
Proposal Development & Coordination: Collaborate with business development, engineering, and project management teams to develop RFQ/RFP strategies and content for public sector opportunities, including state and local government contracts, schools, and other public entities
Pre-Selection Proposal Management: Lead the development of pre-selection proposal responses, ensuring all technical and financial components are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with client objectives
Grant Writing Support: Provide support in researching, writing, and submitting grant applications related to public and private sector projects, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines
Proposal Process Improvement: Continuously explore opportunities to enhance the proposal development process, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches to improve proposal quality
Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure proposals and grant submissions meet all solicitation requirements and are compliant with applicable procurement regulations for public sector clients
Document Management & Configuration: Maintain and expand the templates and write-up library to ensure consistency and quality in all submissions and oversee document control for the proposal process, ensuring all versions are appropriately managed and stored
Team Collaboration & Coordination: Work with internal teams to ensure alignment and clarity on proposal deliverables. Facilitate proposal review meetings to refine and improve submission quality before finalization
Proposal Schedules: Develop and manage proposal schedules, ensuring sufficient time is allocated for review and revisions, with timely delivery of final documents
Your Background Includes
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field
5+ years of experience in proposal writing and development, preferably within the energy services, construction, or related industries
Experience in grant writing, especially for public sector projects, is required
Knowledge of public sector procurement processes (state and local level) is highly desirable
A Bonus To Have
Familiarity with energy efficiency, renewable energy, or energy performance contracting
Previous experience within the ESCO (Energy Service Company) sector
Familiarity with grant researching, writing and application process
Understanding of state and local procurement guidelines and requirements
