Position Description: Reporting to the Group Controller, the Accounting Associate will have primary responsibility for processing the day-to-day, ongoing accounting transactions across all business units / entities. Specific areas of responsibility will include:
Accounts Receivable:
Create and issue customer invoices in accordance with customer contract terms, order forms, and current products/services.
Process checks and electronic payments as needed; accurately apply payments to customer accounts/invoices.
Clarify ambiguous information and document updates for alignment & visibility across all stakeholders.
Maintain complete electronic customer files containing all contracts, orders, and communications.
Execute A/R collections and dunning procedures, including emailing and calling customers to collect past-due amounts; collaborate with internal customer relationship owners regarding disputes or collections issues.
Accounts Payable:
Maintain vendor records within the accounting tools and software, including obtaining W-9s as necessary.
Process vendor bills and employee expense reimbursement requests.
Reconcile vendor statements, following up when bills are determined to be missing, or a discrepancy is discovered.
Monitor company credit card charges, following up on missing receipts and supporting documentation for each statement period.
Banking and General Ledger:
Download banking transactions into accounting software, research unknown debits and credits and resolve.
Complete monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
Complete monthly reconciliation of all credit card accounts.
Assist with maintaining all supporting schedules (prepaid, intercompany transactions, etc.)
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain process / procedure documentation and reinforce separation of duties within the team.
Assist with the annual audit and tax filing processes with the external accounting firms. to provide necessary supporting documentation and explanations.

Qualifications & Attributes: He/she will have taken Accounting coursework or have prior experience processing A/R, A/P, and G/L accounting transactions for a business-to-business company within a small Finance team. The ideal candidate will have:
An Associate's degree including some Accounting coursework, or equivalent experience.
The highest degree of integrity, being both analytical and factual.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong documentation and organizational skills including data/information management.
A propensity to create & maintain written procedures for self and others to ensure consistency.
Proficiency with typical office software (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom / Teams, etc.) plus basic/moderate Excel skills (formulas, formatting, etc.).
Experience with QuickBooks, Bill.com payables, Bill.com spend and expense, online banking applications, advanced Excel skills, and/or ERP implementation experience are a plus.
Reliable, eager-to-learn, proactive, team-contributor suitable for a small team in a dynamic environment.
Effective communication skills, easily gains the confidence of both internal and external relationships.
