At BOBST, customer service is our top priority. We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Trainee to support our world-class machines and deliver exceptional service to our valued customers.
TRAVEL REQUIRED – Candidates must be flexible to travel extensively throughout the US and Canada. Ideal candidates should be located within one hour of a major international airport.
As a Field Service Trainee, you will learn to provide timely and efficient machine repairs and installations, primarily for customers in the Folding Carton product line. Under the guidance of experienced Field Service Technicians, you will develop the skills necessary to become a trusted advisor for the BOBST product range. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Education:
Technical degree related to mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, mechanics, etc. near completion preferred.

Principal Responsibilities:
Assist in machine service (electrical & mechanical), including the repair and installation of new machines, relocation of existing equipment, customer training, and preventative maintenance.
Support troubleshooting efforts and participate in proactive maintenance programs.
Learn to order parts necessary for installations and repairs.
Shadow experienced technicians to develop skills in diagnosing faults and making recommendations in customer environments.
Key Skills & Attributes:
A background or education in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Familiarity with the packaging or finishing converting industry is a plus.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components, including VFDs, servo drives, and PLC logics.
