Job Purpose
This position has responsibility for compliance with tax laws and/or implementing tax planning strategies. The incumbent will operate with a reasonable degree of autonomy in their discharge of duties performing, organizing, supervising and controlling tax processes and work product.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret tax regulations to ensure the organization meets tax obligations and objectives.Review significant tax elements of GAAP and Statutory accounting and ensure adherence to tax accounting policy.Prepare and review simple and complex tax return elements.Manage a significant process or project within the Tax Department and ensure timely, accurate and complete performance.Manage significant process improvements.Regularly participate in day-to-day interaction with external parties including but not limited to IRS, external auditors, regulatory bodies and vendors.
Position Specific
May manage external resources including consulting and outsourcing engagements and will indirectly manage others within tax.Identify potential control weaknesses and act to remedy them.Lead tax integration efforts for specific subject process or matter.

Job Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business AdministrationMaster's degree in Taxation, JD in Taxation or designation as CPA or CFA6 years' experience in a corporate tax department or national public accounting firmDemonstrated ability to make good knowledge-based decisions and ability to evaluate situations in the absence of complete informationProven ability to interact with, advise and influence peers, senior tax leadership and external partiesDemonstrated good written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate technical tax information into understandable and actionable informationAbility to prioritize workload and manage most conflicts to successful resolution
Preferred Qualifications
Insurance industry tax experience preferred.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.
Base Salary Range
$89,700.00 - $134,500.00
