Act as Interpreter between students, parents, and school staff from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English and Spanish
Interpret with no additions or omissions
Handle three-way Hotline interpretations between school staff and parents
Completion of daily phone activity logs
Must be available to work evening, Saturday, and on short notice for meetings
Render clear and exact translations of written materials following guidelines
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate
Pursue continued development of skills and knowledge
Be an actively contributing team member and support the District mission
Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency), plus 60-college hour.
Two years of experience as translator/interpreter
Demonstrate strong written and oral language skills in Spanish and English, including proofreading with keen attention to detail.
Experience with the use of Google docs, Word, PDFs.
If working remotely from home, have an adequate work environment to process calls
Strong organization, time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to learn the use of FM transmitters/receivers (interpretation equipment)
Must have reliable transportation.
Demonstrate ability to work independently.
